Hakusan pottery has created a series of Bloom plates. The 'Bloom' series won the prestigious Red Dot Japan Good Design Award.
Lapis lazuli flowers are hand-painted on white porcelain. Each Bloom item in the series is hand-painted in 12 different steps. Each step is time-consuming and complex. One small error and the piece has to be discarded.
The border pattern complements food beautifully.
