Futagami's range of functional, minimalist daily objects takes inspiration from the cosmos with their unique designs and patterns. Designed by Yoshiki Yamazaki the ray-shaped lines of this solid brass coaster offers a dual purpose; water droplets will pool in the grooves, meaning cups won't stick to the coaster when lifted.
These eye-catching coasters are the perfect accent to your home with silicone incorporated in the base, preventing slippage or damage to your surfaces.
Over time, the brass undergoes a transformation in colour due to natural oxidisation processes; within five years, a charming light-brown patina will develop, followed by russet hues when approaching twenty years. The original lustre of the brass can be maintained through the use of a polishing cloth. It is recommended to keep the coasters dry after usage.

Made in Toyama, Japan
Futagami was founded in Toyama in 1897 and has a long history of making brass artefacts. The techniques of making these brass artefacts were initially used to make Buddhist items for celebration and worship, and are now used to transform exquisitely designed home items into modern collectables. Metals such as brass are subject to change their look with time, thus, bringing out their unique beauty.
