Kotota is a sparrow from a Japanese ancient picture scroll fairy tale "Kotota Story".
It's a story of a sparrow named Kotota and his wife who lost their child and turn religious and become Buddhist monks. In this picture scroll that was drawn in the Muromachi Era (16th century), many beautiful birds from the story are included, and Atsuko Yukawaa creator of Tobidustry cards has made illustrations from this story and they were put together as tiny note cards.
There are 12 different designs, 2 for each design which means 24 cards are tucked inside matchbox packaging.

Since around 2000, the objects to be drawn have been heavily biased toward animals and plants, especially birds.
He is also an accordion player in the band "Tenugui", which he participates in as Atsuko Ichiyanagi.
