"MIKAZUKI" and "NISSHOKU" mean "crescent moon" and "eclipse," respectively. You will find the roughly cast brass opener surprisingly easy-to-use. The opener can be hung on a bottle neck. These bottle openers were made as much for their aesthetic pleasure as their function. Their graphic appeal means they can be left around the kitchen, casually on a bottle, on the table or even displayed as an art piece in your favourite spot. The crude casting surface gives these bottle openers a raw and organic feel.
Designed by Oji Masanori in collaboration with Futagami Company Ltd, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Futagami was founded in 1897 and has a long history of making brass artifacts. This roughly cast brass changes its colour over the course of many years due to oxidisation; the longer they are used, the richer and subtler they become.
