'Fukura suzume' refers to a sparrow with its feathers fluffed up for protection against the cold of winter. It is a symbol of good luck and happiness. In Japanese, "fuku”, means Happiness, and "ra”, means Coming. This motif is used as a lucky charm in Japan.
